Re: Obscenities

So far, Eviendadil has only one mild obscenity. This lack is mostly
due to the fact that I have about a fifty word vocabulary!
The word, 'thaukh', literally means dust, and is normally used as an
interjection. ('Thaukh! El-say"u lin!' = 'Damn! You are stupid!')
However, when used as an expletive, it refers to the state of death.

In fact, the Eviendadil verb for to die is 'thakh"u', which comes from
the same root.

th is an unvoiced dental fricative, like the end of English 'death'.
s, y, n and l are like their English counterparts.
a is as in apple, not as in father
i is as in tin
e as in end
au is a dipthong like the english ow
"u is like the french and german "u (a 'u' with an umlat), a rounded,
high, forward vowel
kh is a sort of velar fricative. It is the sound of the English 'k'
drawn out as a fricative. It's hard to describe.
