First of all, the Orcs of Antarctica speak a language which is pretty
much a language of obscenities.  Everything is sexual, excretory or
blasphemy, to the degree that the use of swear words is really a
standard and "formal" element of the Doh language!!  I won't give any
examples, since I prefer to maintain this list with a healthy sense of
decorum...

The Techians on the other hand are a people with strong morals and a
great sense of modesty and temperance.  This doesn't mean that Tech is
without its off-color expressions.  The "general curse" is pretty much
an intensifier-like adverb/interjection which variously translates to
"f**king", "bloody" as an intensifier, and "bloody hell", "s**t",
"f**k" , "goddammit" or "Jesus H. Christ" as an interjection.

The word is Atlataan, a borrowing from Semitic meaning "the devil" or
"Satan", so a more accurate translation is "what the devil" or "what
the deuce".  Russian has for a mild swear _c^ërt_ which also means
"devil".  A gesture which relates to a reverse peace sign or an
extended middle finger is the _figa_ which comes from Latin.

Incidentally, Atlataan is the Techian name for an invisible entity
controlling the Western Hemisphere and maintaining the absolutism of
the pseudo-theocratic police state and keeping administration of
justice very efficient and very draconian.  It may be a person, or it
may even be a giant computer or something of that ilk...
