Because Helliconia was recommended on this list I went and
bought it, with great anticipation. I got as far as about
page 100 of Book One before giving up on it as tedious drivel
-- it's very rare that I find a book so bad as to be unreadable.
Does it improve if one reads beyond page 100, or it is enjoyable
provided one reads it with the right mindset? What is its
appeal?
It can't be that I just don't like scifi, because I thought
Dune was ace.
I'd appreciate advice from any Helliconia fans. By private
email, I guess.
