I'm not sure where the phrase comes from (try googling for several different
uses of the phrase), but despite the very real threat left-handed Lithuanians
present to our way of life, mom, the flag, and apple pie, it's all tongue and
cheek. :)
As for the typical conlanger, given the large influx of right-handed,
straight, and clean-shaven people, the only currently active conlanger who
currently fills the stereotype is Christophe. We may be witnessing
(especially with the welcomed influxed of doubly-blessed X chromosome folk) a
demographic shift, in which the typical conlanger is right-handed, straight,
and clean-shaven.
