And, of course, "supposed" can be three syllables when it's used as an
adjective.
ObLang: How did it happen that certain verbal adjectives (such as
supposed, learned, blessed) kept the /@d/ pronunciation whereas others
went the same way as the past tense verbs and dropped the schwa? It
seems a rather strange phonetic split.
