David Peterson would be the one to ask on this one, but I'll try:
As they all speak a common language--Vulgar Latin--it is highly unlikely
that they would form a pidgin. Pidgins form when you shove a bunch people
together who don't speak a common language.
What they would do is form a language greatly influenced English, like
what a lot of European countries are undergoing right now. The language
would be undeniably Vulgar Latin, but would have a huge set of borrowings.
Heh. That's hilarious. They would probably borrow words into their own
Latin tongue that were borrowed from Latin originally through French (or
direct) into English.
Let's try it:
accelerate [Eks.'sE.5@`.EIt] from Latin acceleratus [ak.ke.le.'ra:.tus]
borrowed as: [ek.'se.la.et] "exelaet"? "excelaet"?
This is quite fascinating.
