Re: English without Normans (was Re: open/closed syllables)

Anyone know of a resource that discusses Germanic sound changes?  I think
that's where I'd want to start.

Something that doens't presume I know German (although I've discovvered to
my surprise that, if someone speaks it very slowly, I can sometimes
understand it because of its similarity to Old English).
