Well, no, it can't be. Their year is more than twice as long as ours.
However, the Unseen University was founded about two thousand years ago by
their calendar, which is the de facto standard calendar of Ankh-Morpork
(the years with `AM' are in this scale; `AM' stands for Alberto Malich,
who founded the Uni). Anyway, their level of technology can never be the
same as ours---they use magic to do things. Their PDAs and watches and
cameras and computers are all operated by tiny creatures the name of which
I've forgotten, who are sentient (no doubt why they got them before the
printing press). (Okay, if we're just looking at A.-M., ignore the
ameras.)
(BTW: Does Imp y Celyn (or something similar) mean `Bud of the Holly' in
any Earth language?)
