One must also take criticism of Chomsky's works in the
context of his political views. His views--as they
contradict established dogmas, and basically make
mincemeat out of the rhetoric and morally relativist
apologisms of US state intellectuals--quite naturally
tend to be attacked by the same people who's very
intellect and moral character Chomsky routinely puts
on trial.
Ironically, a man consistently accused of "lacking
context" in terms of his political views, occasionally
comes under attacks designed to desparage (not
challenge) his scientific contributions. One must
consider the possibility that these "contexts" are at
times not unrelated.
