On the Mac you can use the Keyboard Viewer to see what you get with the
various combinations. In the International System Preferences pane, enable
the input menu and make sure the Keyboard Viewer is selected as part of it.
Then bring it up and leave it there while you type in some other window.
As you hit modifiers and dead key combinations, the keyboard will change to
show you what character you will wind up with if you press each key. For
instance, I see we have ḱ (k + acute)...
