They should be. After all, France was the USA's role model for over 50
years.
But then, I've heard French politics, at least in the late 1700's and
early 1800's, being likened to a game of musical chairs—"It's my turn to
be prime minister, emperor, the unknown man who pulls the figurehead's
strings, on the constitutional revision committee, etc."
