That's very similar to what they've been doing in the Isle of Man, actually.
There's a Manx-language playgroup (a sort of day-care/pre-kindergarten
thing) called "Mooinjer Veggey" ("Wee Folk") and since there basically
aren't children's books in Manx, they took English children's books,
translated the text into Manx, printed the translations out on the computer,
cut them up line by line, and glued them over the English text. Presto -
instant Manx children's books! :)
