You know, there's a reason why I should try to type at 5:30 in the morning.
To paraphrase Ian Holm in "Greystoke" -- "Families, John. Families."
And, given the fact that it's 5:45 a.m. CST, I'm also surpised the rest of
that was as coherent as it was. What I forgot to mention was that I want to
develop these languages to have a European sound and feel but with
completely different roots for the words, and develop orthographies for the
main languages so that they look and sound like known European languages and
language families but have a completely different root and history. So
Alorré will hopefully look and sound something like French, Escossan like
Spanish, Arthain like English, etc. I plan to do all the sound changes of
each language before I do the orthographies, so that I can arbitrarily
assign the orthographies to fit whatever language I'm trying to echo.
Monkey pudding,
John
