He goes a little bit into various theories, but doesn't side with one
theory or another. I get the impression that he personally believes
that Japanese is an isolate, or possibly part of an isolated
Japanese-Korean family, but he doesn't explicitly say so. He does
describe Old Japanese a fair bit, tho.
