I like the idea of a syllabic alphabet in which the inherent vowel varies
between different consonants. There are one or two examples on Omniglot,
but it seems to be rare (most syllabic alphabets on Omniglot have inherent
a throughout. This appears to stem from their common descent from Bhrami).
