It's interesting that German seems to have more devotes than French among
conlangers - who presumably have a more developed and conscious language
aesthetic - while I'm ready to wager that the "average Westerner" holds the
opposite opinion.
I too find [z], [Z] and [dZ] nifty. Throw in [dz], [z`] and [d`z`] too! But I
much prefer [T] to [D].
