Yeah, that's part of why I said they aren't that far apart. Spanish had /f/ -> /h/ -> zero (fabulare -> hablar /hablar/ -> /ablar/); I don't know about Gascon. I didn't even know there was a Gascon language! -- Mark J. Reed <markjreed@...>
