If we're going to add women not currently on
list, add J.K. Rowling. Hey!, even Dog Latin is a
start! ;)
And Laurie Marks (author of Delan the Mislaid and
Moonbane Mage). I liked her conpeople cos they
have wings; but she has also done two fantastic
linguistic things. First, she seems to have
invented a language for her Aeyrie, called H'ldat
(some Gaelic influences, I see); and she was bold
enough to give English a set of genderless 3s
pronouns in the novels.
You should also add my own cousin, Kelly Winters,
who hasn't gotten any of her novels published as
of yet (many shorter stories, though). She has
done several languages or parts thereof for
various of her conpeople.
Padraic.
