The - is a hyphen that separates the h caused by mutation from the stem
vowel, so it's a spelling conceit. The + means the adjacent vowel is
accented with a teithith or circumflex and should be pronounced as a long
vowel. Technically all final vowels in Brithenig are long, but here the
length is reinforced by the simplification of a /vn/ cluster. I
understand that using + to mark a circumflex is a feature of email Welsh
so I have stolen it for Brithenig as well.
