If nobody objects, I thought it would be good to give you a slight
impression what's going on in workshops.
If I find enough time and inspiration, I'll make these reviews weekly (bli
neder).
So, Review #1, week Dec 8 to Dec 14, 2002
Celti ~ is dormant.
East Asian ~ is dormant.
The latest discussion was on Dec 3 about detailes of Bauhinese phonology.
Specialists in Chinese dialects badly needed.
Romance ~ : 11 msgs per week.
- a couple of new replies to "Get-To-Know Translation Exercise";
- Fortunatian, a romlang with strong Etruscan and Berber influence, is
presented.
Slavi ~ is dormant, though participants agreed to widen the range of langs
under discussion by adding Greek, Albanian, Baltic and Uralic langs.
West Asian ~ : 12 msgs per week.
- a discussion on the best ASCII-friendly transliteration of Arabic script
is still on;
- a couple of detailes about Zhyler, an apriori conlang with nice features
from Turkic and Bantu were discussed.
The group turned to be Unicode- and ANSI-friendly (at least for Arabic and
Hebrew scripts, Ethiopic was not tested).
That's all for now.
