I'm one of those people who doesnt have an interest in Tolkien either. I
do appreciate what he did, and his conlangs are beautiful, but i dont see
myself running out to go read LOTR, for instance. I will probably see the
movie though. It takes something really fascinating in the book to get me
to read it (which is why i'm enjoying "House of Leaves" by Mark Z.
Danielewski, because it's an odd book).
Like Yoon, elves, orcs, and things of that sort dont really enchant me. I
guess that's why i never got into such things as Dungeons and Dragons, and
Magic: the gathering.
