It appears *to* have come out in UTF-8 for me. If it was a test of an IPA font
then it failed, because the only translatin-1 characters to appear are capital
Omega and both capital and small Pi.
I don't know if this may have anything to do with the note that after it was
"autoconverted" from q-p to 8bit it was "autoconverted" again to base64.
