Maybe, then, you'll also like the spelling of the newest Meghean word: _ushu_
['uhu] "owl". It, too, effectively drops the 's'! :)

(Of course, |sh| is the regular spelling of [h] in Meghean. The definite form
_hushu_ ['juhu] "the owl" is of course equally regular, as is the accusative
_ushuo_ ['uhow]. By know if should come as a surprise to nobody that the
definite accusative possessive is _huishuo_ ['jujhow].)
