Careful, you might start me evangelising!
For info on current Amiga developments, check out AmigActive - I think
the last Amiga magazine now printed in Britain. They also have a
website at http://www.amigactive.com/
Amiga themselves also have a website at http://www.amiga.com/
The current OS is Workbench 3.9, though I am quite happy with 3.5
A standard A1200 will not do anymore, you would need to beef it up
considerably - I use a 68400 accelerator in the trapdoor with 64MB
memory, and a 6.4GB hard disk and CD player through the scsi port.
My honest advice? Wait a few months until the new generation
Amiga is launched (AmigaOne) - I think they plan this as a hardware
independent operating system backwardly compatible with classic Amiga
A1200 software. I'll believe it when I see it...
Happy hunting
