As Tristan said, it's not uncommon. I pronounce the t, but then I also
pronounce the t in "tsar", so I'm not a good test case.
The standard Japanese pronunciation definitely includes the t, although
there may be dialects that don't; there would be an awful lot of
homophones in such a dialect, though.
