Honh? Preemptive war on Mordor? Someone forgot to
read the backstory! The War of the Ring was but
the final chapter in a struggle begun,
ultimately, by Melkor in ages past.
Why can't the One Ring be wielded? Because the
Ring, essentially, IS Sauron in annular shape. If
someone not ready or powerful enough were to
essay the deed, he'd be eaten alive. Didn't they
read the book before commenting? Did they skip
the whole Gollum business? He wielded the Ring
for a bloody long time.
Um. Was that some kind of joke, or something? I
don't mean to be uncharitable, and it is a work
of fiction after all; but they really should do
their homework before mouthing off!
Padraic.
