The U.S. Selective Service System used to start its letter telling you
that you had been drafted into the army with the word "Greeting", singular;
this word all by itself can generate a laugh/shudder among American
males of a certain age.

Most languages are dramatically underdescribed, and at least one is
dramatically overdescribed. Still other languages are simultaneously
overdescribed and underdescribed. Welsh pertains to the third category.
