[I'm not a parent, but:]
Boredom is just as much the mother of addiction as it is of arts [to bring in
another thread]--If there's nothing else he likes to do, then he will naturally
get upset when it's taken away.
I can't presume to offer advice, but having been like that a child brought up
on video games I can tell you what my parents did, which was to establish
playing limits (by amount of time mainly), and require me to spend a certain
amount of time outdoors everyday. I hated it too. :p [But that's no
endorsement, really, as I still now spend all my free time in front of the
computer...]
