It makes perfect sense. In Talmud class in highschool i would sometimes
just look at the page, without paying attention to the letters or words,
and just sort of contemplate the pattern of ink on paper, with all the
waving white lines of gaps between letters and words, and imagine streams
flowing down through the gaps from the top of the page to the bottom.
