But that still wouldn't be gender. To be called gender, it must
influence other words in the sentence, for instance, affecting the
choice of adjectival forms. Otherwise, it's merely a classification

Two classification suffixes. If those then become affixed to
adjectives, or verbs, or whatever, then it's gender.
