Dear Matt,
I appear to be rather out of the field nowadays, and I haven't
heard of this book you mention - could you give me the full title
and publisher? It's a topic I'm getting interested in rather deeply,
myself, ever since having heard George van Driem pronounce Chinese
to be a Tibeto-Burman language. Since then I've always had the feeling
that linguistic taxonomics was in need of a thorough shake-up (or
is that a shake-down?).
