There are apparently a lot of people who believe that Megan is Irish
rather than Welsh (the actual Irish form of "Margaret" is Mair )Béad,
with lots of variations as in English), and so "Meaghan", "Meghan",
"Meagan", and other pseudo-Irish forms are now out there.  This may
be influenced by the genuinely Irish surname Meegan/Meeghan/Meehan
(Miadhag )Bán), which is an ancient male given name.
