I see. I guess I'll just have to figure it out as I go along. A lot of the more common symbols don't differ much from system to system from what I can tell, specifically the ones used in English, so I guess they wouldn't be much confusion unless I use lots of wacky sounds. Maybe a language that consists entirely of clicks I can't pronounce and /i/. Can you say /!\iO\=\i|\i?iO\/, 'cuz I sure can't. I did cheat and use a glottal stop in there, and I'm using the SAMPA system in case you're wonerding, although it probably wouldn't be the best in that case, as it looks rather hard to read. In the Branner system it would be /r!ip!c!it!i?ip!/, which is the best we can hope for. I don't know why I'm still rambling on about something that doesn't have much relevance to anything.
