As a follow-up, I would like to report that the presentation came off well
(i.e. my public speaking abilities came through). The presentation seemed
to be well received, too. The Q & A session was a bit disappointing. The
moderator of our session lumped the Q & A session for all the speakers into
a single ten minute block. So there weren't very many questions for me, and
there weren't very many questions in general. I believe that Sally will
detail the questions soon, since she was the principal person who asked
questions of me. I did get to talking to a linguaphile (a sort of wanna-be
linguistics major) after the talk, and he did ask the question, "Do you
change or tweak?" I had to respond that frequently I just change, like this
week where I moved from a SVO word order to VSO. He was also interested in
how often I change to which I replied that, in general, it is during periods
where I have a lot of linguistic/language simulation (like this week).
As for those who asked for a copy of the presentation materials, I hope to
send those soon (like tomorrow). And if you still want a copy, there is no
immediate end to when they will be available.
