To the extent that they make me have to stop and interpret an unfamiliar
word and determine that it's a deliberate departure from common
practice, it's not. It's somewhat similar in effect, though not
magnitude, to someone arbitrarily deciding to spell /&/ with <aleph>.
Stumbling block for readers.
