It's a regional thing probably. (Texas/US South.) And it's just the s>h shift, nothing like /ftring/. I'm probably quite late in responding to this, but, it's not just a regionail thing (and I certainly don't think New York City is the South). I certainly do say /ftring/, but not on an everyday basis and not to everyone i meet. Elliott
