The following book was promoted at a church service last night, and
I bought a copy for $A30. It's an excellent book for anyone who wants
to understand the main cultural barriers between white and Aboriginal
Australians (including linguistic barriers) and why these barriers are
central to the problems that Aboriginal people face today.
The book is:
Trudgen, Richard. "Why Warrors Lie Down And Die" (Openbook Publishers,
Adelaide, 2000).
ISBN 0-646-39587-4
Chapter 5 is, "What Language Do You Dream In?" and there's an short
appendix on phonetics.
