Well, the attitude is somewhat racist: a "You're
NOT one of US - you have no business talking like
US!" sort of thing. Some people are firecely
protective of their cultural property; and
language is certainly one of those properties.
Cants are in a similar boat. Outsiders are not
welcome to learn them.
