Staving Thomas Leigh:
On a similar note, last week's Private Eye had a "First Draughts" cartoon
that showed JRR Tolkein sitting forlornly in front of a typewriter with a
blank sheet of paper in it. In the second panel he slams his fist down on
the keyboard in frustration. In the third, he is looking with interest at
the string "mrgmff" that has appeared as a result of this. In the last
pannel he is merrily typing away "mrgrmff lived in the forest of plthwwmm
in the land of ggrgador".
