Re: THEORY: Question about the evolution of language

There's almost constant discussion of the origins of language on
sci.anthropology.paleo. Although it generally revolves around (non-human)
primate studies, it still makes a highly interesting read. It generally seems
to imply that hominids were language-ready (to a basically modern standard) well
before the days of the Neanderthal. There was a thread that ran for some time
cross-posted between sci.lang and sci.anthropology.paleo that got into all kinds
of territory like this.
