Don't worry - I suspect that applies to _very_ many of us on the list :
)
I composed my first conlang when I was about 10; I'm now nearing 66, and
still have not got a _complete_ conlang. Even JRR Tolkien never
_completed_ any conlang!

The sort that interests you most :)
My first conlang came about because I got interested in the origin of
words, and so I got interested in Old English; then I discovered my mother'
s French text books from her school days and became absolutely fascinated
by the grammar - especially the verbs! That gave rise to my first conlang!
Then I discovered Esperanto (I was 11) and my teens were spent churning
out one auxlang after another as I got new ideas or started to learn a new
natural language (often the same thing).

I would advise simple _experimenting_ with different ideas - try them out,
see where they take you and have fun!

I personally would not advise this simply because I would find it a very
boring thing to do. I like to experiment with unusual ideas and see where
they take me.

I guess agglutinative & isolating are both easier in their own ways.

Why not? The main thing I think is that the hobby is fun. I would advice
you to try out different ideas and get a feel for what you like & dislike
before settling on a particular course. After all, you are still young and
hopefully have decades of conlanging ahead :)

Have fun.
Experiment & see what happens.
