Has any of the group worked with colors in his conlang or
conculture? There is a color system in Senyecan. 6 is a mystical
number in the culture & there are a lot of groups of & multiples of 6.
There are 6 basic colors:
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple.
rúúdhin, véélrin, bádjin, dhálin, módhrin, víswin.
Between each of these is an intermediary color:
reddish-orange, orangish-yellow, yellowish-green,
sérin, céncin, yhélwin,
greenish-blue, bluish-purple, purplish-red.
líímhin, mééljin, órbin.
Each of these 12 colors can then be modified by 4 different prefixes:
lhiid-, pel-, mel-, caal-.
paler, pale, dark, darker.
There is also álin (white) & cóesin (black) which do not admit
of
shades.
yhéérmhin (gray) also has the 5 shades, but has tsjéémin
instead of
caalyhéérmhin.
There are 2 words for brown: vévrin for animate beings & véérin
for
inanimate beings. Each of these can take the modifying prefixes,
except that véérin has dhúscin instead of caalvéérin.
If my math is correct, that's a total of 71 colors.
