TECH: unable to post to list using thunderbird

for some reason, if i try to post to the list by sending e-mail with thunderbird,
the message doesn't go through (just disappears, doesn't bounce or anything),
but i can post if i send e-mail with safe-mail's webmail... anyone have any
ideas how to fix this?
