To hopefully avoid confusing anyone: my parenthetical "(the American meaning of)" was meant to apply only to "Cheers!", to distinguish it from the British use of "cheers" to mean "thank you". The other toasts are obviously not limited to America's shores. -- Mark J. Reed <markjreed@...>
