Have you looked at any psych experiments lately? Many of them are
filled with completely bizarre tasks that humans would never actually
do... but which reveal interesting things about how we think at one
level or another.
So regardless of whether you think it's "natural" or not (I'm not
touching that one), it could still "give insight on how humans process
the world". Perhaps debatable about how we normally process
*language*, but those aren't the same thing.
