As in Old English. [eo], with the [o] very short. In my OE grammar, I even
have the small arc under the [o], signifying it's not syllabic, though I can
hardly see how t may come (anyone, anything?). the length of the whole thng
is the same as of a long vowel. <eo> with the acute accent on the e is
pronounced the same, only it's as long as long vowel, if you see what I mean
:-)
