I can't back you up on this one I'm afraid---I can manage two-segment clusters just fine thankyverymuch. (On the other hand, when we get stupid things like /lfTs/ in "twelfths", I'm all for knocking out a segment or two ... I think I'm inclined to say [tw&lfs], but the /l/ can also be deleted or vocalised.) (Or, by "Am I alone with this L2 pronunciation?", did you mean "are there any other L2 speakers who do this?" rather than "Or is this a marker of L2ness?".) -- Tristan.
