Nyenya'a has several scripts. One was alphabetic, derived from Hiragana. Before the alphabetic was introduced, there was the normal, everyday Hiragana, there was the really roundy Hiragana for decorative purposes, and the square (Kufi-like) Hiragana used exclusively for writing the Koran. Nowadays only the Alphabetic is used generally, but the Koran is still written only in the "Kufigana". ---ferko
