- I doubt it... it just seems that the abbreviation is spelled the same way (with the exception of the " ) as the other word. _stam_ can also mean "plain, regular", or "any": Mother: tein li niyar (give me a paper) Yossi: eize niyar? (which paper?) Mother: stam niyar (any paper.) or Mother: tein li niyar (give me a paper) Yossi: niyar `aveh? (thick paper?) Mother: lo', niyar stam. (no, a plain paper) I'm pretty sure that those are accurate uses of the adjective/interjection _stam_.
