>Someone brought up the fact that it's okay to say "It's a frog", but notokay to say things of the nature of *"I don't know where it's". I thought about this a little.. it seems that there's some fine distinction between the contraction and the phrase, that I'm at a total loss to describe.>--- >ShreyasIt's not just 'okay' to say "it's a frog" but the idea of saying "it is a frog" is quite obtuse and is somewhat reminiscent of some kind of English learning program. Also when saying "it is a frog" it is quite difficult not to put the emphasis on 'is', though if it was necessary to stress 'is', eg in response to "it's not a frog" this would be quite appropriate.
